What you need in order to install a hyperbaric chamber or a cryotherapy cabin
The question usually arrives as "how much room does it take?", and floor area is almost never the problem. What stalls projects is floor loading and ventilation, and both are settled by looking at drawings, not brochures.
Space: the unit, plus room to use it and to service it
The size of the unit is the minimum floor area, not the room. On top of it you need somewhere for the person to get in and out, somewhere to change, room for whoever runs the session to move, and the gap needed to service the equipment.
That last point is written into the manual for the cryotherapy cabin: leave 1 m of maintenance space around the unit. That is a metre that disappears from the room and that almost nobody counts when measuring.
As an order of magnitude, the cryotherapy cabin measures 100 × 140 × 220 cm and the soft-shell OLV-RZT02 measures 200 × 60 × 115 cm. The cabin's 220 cm of height is the figure worth checking first if the premises have a suspended ceiling.
Floor: a lot of weight on a small area
The cryotherapy cabin weighs about 300 kg and puts it on little more than one and a half square metres. The hard-shell OLV-YTD04 is 120 kg of equipment, without the person inside.
The manufacturer's manual makes it the first step before installing anything: confirm that the site meets the load-bearing and ventilation requirements. If the unit is going on an upper floor, in a mezzanine or onto an old slab, that check is a job for an engineer, and it is done before the order is signed, not when the lorry arrives.
Electrical supply
The cryotherapy cabin declares 2 kW of installed power. In consumption terms it is not a demanding unit; the important detail is the supply itself.
The manufacturer's specification is 120 V / 60 Hz or customisable. That is the North American grid: for Spain or Romania the European configuration has to be requested explicitly when placing the order. It is the point most often overlooked when buying imported equipment, and it is not something an adapter fixes.
Ventilation and gas safety: cryotherapy only
The cryotherapy cabin cools with liquid nitrogen and uses between 3 and 5 kg of nitrogen per session. Nitrogen is not toxic, but it displaces oxygen from the air, which is why the room matters as much as the unit.
The manual sets out three things: an independent exhaust system is recommended, the unit comes with an oxygen concentration monitoring and alarm device installed, and the indoor oxygen concentration has to be kept at the 19.5% the manual itself specifies.
On the tank: the unit accepts low- and medium-pressure Dewar flasks, below 1.6 MPa, and expressly prohibits high-pressure ones. Dewar flasks are pressure vessels, with periodic inspection — the manual refers to a full inspection every 3 or 5 years — and with the condition of safety valves and rupture discs under watch. That means a supply contract and an inspection schedule, not a one-off purchase.
Maintenance and consumables
On a hyperbaric chamber the recurring cost is low and predictable. On cryotherapy it is not: 3 to 5 kg of nitrogen per session is a consumable that goes straight into the cost per session and therefore into the return calculation.
It is worth having nitrogen supply and its logistics settled before opening the service, not after selling the first package.

Will building work be needed?
It depends on the unit and on the premises, and it would not be honest to answer that in general. Is my existing electrical installation enough?
In terms of power, almost certainly: the cryotherapy cabin declares 2 kW installed. What has to be sorted out is the supply, because the standard specification is 120 V / 60 Hz and the European configuration has to be requested on the order.
Can I put a cryotherapy cabin in a basement or a room with no windows?
That is exactly the case that needs careful study. The manual recommends independent extraction and the unit carries an oxygen monitor with alarm precisely because nitrogen displaces oxygen. In a room with no natural ventilation that gets solved in the installation design, with an engineer, not improvised.
